Clock: your splits added up, with the roxzone spread evenly over the 16 transitions. vs typical: each split against a typical race with your moving time (1:20:30); + is time lost there, − is time gained.

What the total includes

Nothing is estimated here: the total is exactly what you enter. Empty boxes count as zero, so you can add up part of a race - the first half of a sim, say. With all sixteen segments in, the page turns into a race sheet and you can save the result as your race goal.

The race sheet shows the clock after every segment and compares each split with a typical race at your moving time: that segment's share in the reference model × your moving time. A + is time you lost there against a typical athlete with your finish; the biggest + values are where training pays most.

In a typical Open race running takes about half the finish time, the stations a little over 40% and the roxzone around 6%, and runs 5–8 are about 7% slower than runs 1–4. A roxzone well above 6% is the cheapest time to win back: it is walking and transitions, not fitness.

How the numbers are calculated

Every calculator on these pages scales the same reference model: Split Gate's own model of how a typical Open race divides its time - not official HYROX data and not anyone's personal results.

The reference model: each segment's share

About 94% of a typical finish is moving - the eight runs and eight stations - and about 6% is roxzone. The table gives each segment's share of the moving time. The model is proportional: a faster athlete is assumed faster everywhere by the same factor, so wherever you have your own splits, they beat it.
